Robberies, thefts on the rise in Capital

The incidents of robbery, motor vehicle theft and kidnapping witnessed an increase in the federal capital as over 12 cases of various kinds of theft, seven cases of carjacking and three cases of kidnapping were reported to various police stations of the city during the last week.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, hotspots for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Kohsar, Bhara Kahu, Bani Gala, Aabpara, Shalimar and Shehzad Town police stations during the last week.

In the same period, Kohsar police station registered three cases of auto theft and one case of robbery. Ghulam Rasool informed Kohsar police station that unidentified armed persons snatched two mobile phones and Rs 70,000 cash from him. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number APQ-011 of one Nauman Masood, lifted a bike bearing registration number RIY-2645 of Mehmood and stole another bike bearing registration number RIX-2316.

During the last week, Bhara Kahu police station registered one case each of robbery, auto theft and murder. One Hameed Ullah lodged a complaint with Bhara Khau police station that Abdullah Yousaf allegedly stole a transformer installed outside his farmhouse. Auto thieves stole a bike bearing registration number LEK-4933. Police recovered a dead body of five-year-old Umer who had been kidnapped by his father's first cousin in the limits of Bhara Kahu police station.

One case each of auto theft, robbery and kidnapping was reported to Bani Gala police station during the last week. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration bike OKL-5170 of Saifullah of Rs 50,000. One Shahid Mehmood informed Bani Gala police station that unknown robbers stole a mobile phone and Rs 200,000 cash after breaking locks of his shop. One Waheed Ahmed lodged a complaint with Bani Gala police station that unknown people have kidnapped his daughter.

During the last week Aabpara police registered one case each of auto theft and robbery. Auto thieves stole a Suzuki van bearing registration number IDG-8130. One Altaf Hayat informed Aabapra police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments and Rs 160,000 cash from his house.

Shalimar police registered two cases of robbery during the last week. One Sohail Ahmed lodged a complaint with Shalimar police station that his security guard allegedly stole Rs 257,425 cash from his house. One Usman Shafiqu informed Shalimar police station that Azam and others stole cash and gold ornaments from his house.
