Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Tuesday said the Punjab Assembly has made record legislation in a short span of time while the government is committed to serve the masses wholeheartedly. Talking to different MPAs, here on Tuesday, the CM said the journey of public service will be continued as well as the meetings with Assembly members. The MPAs reposed their complete confidence in the leadership of chief minister and said that they are firmly standing with him.
"We are the lieutenants of Prime Minister Imran Khan as well as yours and would be standing with you in the journey of public service. It is our luck that a person like you is our chief minister," they added.
Congratulating the nation on the eve of New Year, Buzdar said that Pakistan will be economically stable, peaceful and strengthened in 2020. "The year 2020 will herald a prosperous future and would lay the foundation of a developed and peaceful Pakistan. We will have to calculate our successes and failures while welcoming the New Year," he added.
He said the government will continue working for making Pakistan a welfare state. We pray that 2020 may prove a year of peace, stability and prosperity for the people of Pakistan. Moreover, the CM chaired a meeting at his office in which cleanliness arrangements in Lahore city and the proposed system of the future were reviewed. The chief minister said that there should be no problem with regard to cleanliness arrangements in the city and the solid waste should be properly disposed of.
He directed that identification of land for new landfill site should be completed soon and the process of hiring consultant should also be completed at the earliest. There should be an effective substitute system for cleanliness after the expiry of the contract with foreign companies, he added. After the contract, the disposal of solid waste should be performed better than earlier, he said.
He said that Lahore Waste Management Company (LWMC) should devise a temporary system of cleanliness till the award of the new contract and relevant rules and regulations should also be followed in all matters for the new contract.
Secretary Local Government briefed that the LWMC board has approved the hiring of consultant whole will devise a complete business model of cleanliness.
On the directions of the CM Sardar Usman Buzdar, Punjab government has approved a special grant for rural ambulance service. The decision was taken in the meeting of the cabinet committee on finance and development to release the supplementary grant worth Rs 900 million.
