The current cold weather in Karachi is expected to last for the next two days as the temperature in the port city dropped to as low as 9°C on Wednesday which is the lowest temperature for the season recorded.
According to the Pakistan Meteorological Department (PMD), Siberian winds, blowing from the West at an average speed between 30 and 35 kilometres per hour will bring down the temperature during the day to around 20 degrees.
PMD Director Sardar Sarfraz said that the lowest temperatures on Thursday and Friday can range from between 19°C to 20°C and can go as low as seven to eight degrees Centigrade.
Meanwhile, dense fog is likely to prevail in most plain areas of Punjab and upper Sindh while in few plain areas of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa during morning and night hours.
