Economy now heading toward stability, says KP minister

Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Minister for Information, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai on Thursday said that good effects of tough decision have started emerging and the economy has started moving towards stability.

Talking to media persons during his visit to Peshawar Press Club, the minister said government is taking measures to resolve issues, which were bringing positive impacts and results. He said the incumbent government was faced with issues after coming into power, but the situation is heading toward improvement with the passage of time.

Shaukat Yousafzai held the former governments responsible for current economic crisis and inflation and expressed the hope for betterment within next four months. The Minister said that when the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf (PTI) came into power, the economy was destabilized and the ex-governments had controlled dollar artificially while the present government brought it into its original value where it stands.

He criticized that no doubt, there is sky rocketing price hike but it is due to former governments. He claimed that the country economy is rapidly moving towards sustainability so that will ultimately give relief to masses with reduction in prices of essential commodities.

Replying a query, the minister said government is taking practical measures to ease difficulties of the masses and ensure all basic facilities, like education, health etc, adding that it is taking initiative to give one thousand rupee to every student adding that sehat Insaf cards (SICs) would also be provided in the current year.

He said the gas loadshedding in the Khyber Pakhtunkhwa province particularly in the metropolis is injustice because it produces gas and despite it, the people face gas shortage "We protest over it in KP province", he annoyed over it.

About changes in provincial cabinet, the minister said it was not on part of bad or good performance but one who could deliver with true letter and spirit, is being given the concerned portfolio and after merger of ex-federally administered tribal areas (FATA) the strength of cabinet from 14 to 16 will be made and some advisors as well.

Earlier, the minister who accompanied by Secretary Information, Syed Imtiaz Hussain Shah, Director General (DG) Directorate of Information and Public Relations, Imadullah Khan and other officials, congratulated the newly elected members of PPC elections 2020.

He said he is pleased over strong unity of journalists' community and termed it an example for all politicians regarding unity and brotherhood. He passed on good wishes to the journalists' community.
