Senior Vice Chairman Hyderabad SITE Association of Trade and Industry Aamir Shahab has expressed his grave concern over the low supply of gas in SITE Hyderabad by Sui Southern Gas Company Limited and said that it is causing great losses to valuable machineries of the industrial units of the area.
In a statement issued here on Saturday, he said that at the one hand, the government fully desired and committed to enhance industrial productions and the other hand, the government departments like SSGL are creating hurdles in achieving the required targets of such productions which could earn huge foreign exchange for the country. He said that supply of gas with low gas pressure was not only destroying the valuable machineries of the industrial units but it also halted the industrial production causing huge financial losses to industrialists.
The gas is being used in industries as raw material and its supply with low pressure is creating sense of unrest and uncertainty among the industrialists, he said and added that industries are the backbone of the economy of the country therefore, required incentives should be provided to industrial sector so that industrialists could be able to meet the orders and supply the productions and manufacturing abroad well in time.
He appealed to Prime Minister, Federal Power Minister to take serious notice over the issue and ask the Managing Director SSGL to ensure smooth gas supply to industrial units so that industrialists could be able to achieve the targets of industrial development which set by the government.
