Amendments to Army Act: PML-N team, Fazl discuss matters

The PML-N delegation included Punjab Chapter President Rana Sanaullah, former speaker National Assembly Ayaz Sadiq, MNA Rana Tanveer Hussian and former deputy speaker National Assembly Murtaza Javed Abbasi. The government did not discuss the proposed bill with the opposition. He further said that they haven't changed their position. If the law can be passed in 6 months, the assembly can be dissolved and new elections can also be held.

According to sources, Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi along with his delegation met JUI-F chief at his residence to convince him for supporting the key bill regarding extension in tenure of the Army Chief, but Maulana refused to do so.

Maulana said that voting in favor of the bill is out of question; however he hasn't decide to vote in opposition or stay neutral. He said that he has informed Chaudhry Brothers about his position that legislation can also be made by electing a new parliament. He urged opposition to take a joint stance on this issue.
