The National Assembly approved on Tuesday the three amendment bills related to the tenures of the serving chiefs of the armed forces.
The three bills are Pakistan Army Amendment Bill 2020, the Pakistan Air Force Amendment Bill 2020 and the Pakistan Navy Amendment Bill 2020. The NA session was chaired by NA Speaker Asad Qaiser. Defence Minister Pervez Khattak moved the three bills.

Prime Minister Imran Khan also arrived at the Parliament. Prior to the session, a meeting of the Pakistan Muslim League - Nawaz parliamentary group was also held. A government delegation also arrived in Pakistan Peoples Party Chairperson Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari's chambers to meet with him.

The National Assembly Standing Committee on Defence approved the Army Act Amendment Bill on Monday. Khattak said the Army Act Bill was approved by all the members of the house. He added none of the members opposed the bill or raised any objection.
