(Karachi) At least two pilots faced martyrdom when an aircraft of the Pakistan Air Force (PAF) crashed during a routine operational training mission near Mianwali, PAF reported on Tuesday.
The two pilots, Squadron Leader Harris Bin Khalid and Flying Officer Ibadur Rehman, who boarded the FT-7 aircraft, lost their lives in the crash.
The air headquarters have ordered an inquiry into the incident to determine the cause of the accident.
The aircraft took off from an airbase for a training mission. However, on its way for landing, the FT-7 aircraft crashed. Soon after the incident, army and law enforcement personnel reached the spot and shifted the bodies to local hospital.
In 2019, at least 18 people were killed when an Pakistan Army aircraft on a training flight crashed near Rawalpindi. The King Air 350 Turboprop took a steep turn before crashing near the airport. The dead included five crew members and 13 civilians.
