Prime Minister Imran Khan expressed his deepest condolences to the people of Oman on the demise of His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said al Said.
The prime minister took to his Twitter handle on Saturday and wrote that His Majesty was a visionary who transformed Oman into a vibrant and modern state.
"Oman has lost a beloved leader and Pakistan a close, trusted friend. May his soul rest in eternal peace," he added.

The Arab world's longest-serving ruler, Sultan Qaboos aged 79 died on Friday. 'With great sorrow and deep sadness... the royal court mourns His Majesty Sultan Qaboos bin Said, who passed away on Friday,' a statement said.
A three-day period of mourning has been declared in Oman and the flag will be flown at half-mast for 40 days. Oman has named Haitham bin Tariq Al Said as its new ruler.
