Carjacking cases on the rise in Capital

Over eight cases of various kinds of theft, seven cases of carjacking and one murder case were reported to different police stations of the city during the last week. According to the data gathered by Business Recorder, most 'favorite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Industrial Area, Ramna and Tarnol police stations in the aforementioned period.

Two cases of robbery were reported to Ramna police station. One Jamal Aslam informed Ramna police station that unknown robbers stole gold ornaments, cash and a laptop from his house. One Najma Saqib filed a case with the same police station that her housemaid Haleem Bibi and others stole cash, gold ornaments and other valuables of Rs 1,500,000 from her house.

During the last week, Industrial Area police station registered two cases of motor vehicle theft. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number BBN-015 of Umair Akhtar of Rs 750,000 and lifted a bike of Faisal Mustafa from the same area.

Similarly, one case each of auto theft and snatching at gunpoint were reported to Tarnol police station. Auto thieves stole a car bearing registration number APE-853 of Naeem Ullah.

In the same period Karachi Company, Noon, Bhara Kahu and Bani Gala police stations registered one case each of robbery while one case each of auto theft was reported to Margalla, Koral and Aabpara police stations in the same period.
