The filmmaker has landed himself in trouble after he asked Modi to reveal his and his father's birth certificate.
Bollywood director Anurag Kashyap has been quite vocal regarding the ongoing situation and protests in India. especially after Citizenship Amendment Bill (CAB). The filmmaker has landed himself in trouble after he demanded Indian PM Narendra Modi to reveal his and his father's birth certificate.
The filmmaker has been raising his voice against India’s current government and Modi-led policies from quite a while. “Today CAA has been enforced. Tell Modi to first show his papers, his degree in ‘entire political science’ as well as his father’s and family’s birth certificate to the entire nation. Then ask for our papers.” he wrote on Twitter in Hindi.
Soon after his tweet, Indians have been bashing him for using abusive language towards Modi.
How can this man talk like this? Is this the way to address the PM of our country. Why is he not arrested. ? This means the Govt is afraid of him. Good #AnuragKashyap aur gaali do https://t.co/D9vYvLeF9v

Talking about Kashyap’s comment, Indian filmmaker Priyadarshan said that film people have nothing to do with politics so they should keep themselves out of it. “What have film people got to do with political issues? Do they even understand the nitty-gritty? How much did Deepika Padukone study the situation at JNU before visiting?”, he said.
He further said, “I think people like Anurag Kashyap should just shut their mouth. Of course, it is everyone’s fundamental right to protest. But just lashing out at PM Modi and Amit Shah is not constructive criticism but a misuse of the freedom of expression that democracy offers us.”
