The Punjab Board of Technical Education (PBTE) has increased the chances of appearing in examinations for the unsuccessful students. Now, the chances for appearing in the Board's examinations have been equalized to other educational boards.
This was decided at a meeting presided over by Minister for Trade and Industries Mian Aslam Iqbal here Thursday. The meeting also reviewed the Board's financial and administrative matters.
The Minister said that PBTE would be upgraded to meet the modern-day challenges. The technical institutions have been brought under one roof through the platform of Punjab Skills Development Authority, he added. The Chief Minister's Honarmand Programme has been launched to give latest skills training to 100,000 students every year, he said.
He directed for devising a suitable mechanism for the employment of skilled workers in the market. He said that organizational capacity of PBTE would be increased for holding practical exams as this would help to achieve the goals of this board.
He said that labs of technical institutions would also be upgraded and directed that technical educational board should be digitalized and latest technology should be used to improve efficiency and performance.
He said that finance department's guidelines should be followed in financial matters.
