Apple-laden trailer seized at Torkham border

The Customs Intelligence and Investigation department Peshawar has recovered a smuggled trailer loaded with 25,500 kilogramme apple from Mardan Fruits Market which was entered in Pakistan from Afghanistan via Torkham border on fake documents.

The Customs department received a tip off about entering of a trailer bearing number 3646, in which loaded a huge cache of apple without payment of tax/import duty in Pakistan from Afghanistan via Torkham border, according to press release issued here on Monday.

The Customs authorities constituted a team under supervision of Superintendent Malik Mobin and other staff members and recovered apple trailer from Mardan Fruits Market. The driver was arrested and started further interrogation into the case.
