In line with SECP Rules, Board of Directors of PIACL through a competitive process recommended the appointment of Air Marshal Arshad Malik as CEO PIACL, which was formally approved by the Federal Cabinet.

Under the leadership of Air Marshal Arshad Malik, a team of dedicated serving PAF officers was tasked to bring organisational discipline in the national flag carrier, restructure and recover it from operational losses and run it along professional lines in order to regain its position in the global aviation industry. With this vision, the team performed its duties to the best of its ability and took professional decisions purely based on merit. However on the observations of the honourable Supreme Court of Pakistan, CEO PIACL has handed over the function of the CEO of the airline to the Board of Directors of PIACL.-PR
