Crime rate on the rise in Capital

Over 21 incidents of different robberies, car lifting, murder and kidnapping took place in various parts of the city during the last week, exposing the police performance with respect to protection of life and property.

According to data gathered by Business Recorder, over eight cases of various kinds of theft, nine cases of car jacking, two cases of murder and three cases of kidnapping were reported to the city's different police stations in last week.

In the same period, most 'favorite' areas for the criminal gangs were within the limits of Khanna, Shehzad Town, Golra, Bhara Kahu, Ramna and Kohsar police stations.

During the last week, Khanna police station registered one case each of auto theft, murder and kidnapping. Auto thieves stole Land Cruiser bearing registration number AJK-277 of one Muhammad Irfan. One Imtiaz Hussain lodged a complaint with Khanna police station that unidentified persons murdered his son Hamza. One Samina Bibi lodged a complaint with the same police station that accused Imran and other allegedly kidnapped his daughter.

Two cases of kidnapping were reported to Shehzad Town police station during the last week. Muhammad Naeem lodged a complaint with Shehzad Town police station that unknown people kidnapped his son Nauman Umer and another Sabahat Zahoor lodged a complaint with the same police station that unidentified people abducted her husband Ameen-ur-Rehman.

During the last week, robbers struck at two different places in the limits of Bhara Kahu police station. One Usman Riaz informed Bhara Kahu police station that accused Muhammad Faizan allegedly stole cash and two mobile phones from his house. One Noreen Shehzadi lodged a complaint with Bhara Kahu police station that the accused Noor Alam allegedly snatched her purse containing cash and important documents.
