Federal Aviation Minister Ghulam Sarwar Khan has visited Allama Iqbal International Airport to oversee precautionary measures taken by Pakistan Civil Aviation Authority (CAA) in view of Coronavirus outspread and interacted with Federal Government Health Officials.
"During his visit to the airport on January 26, the Minister took briefing from Director P&D and APM regarding status of new car park /access roads and upcoming projects," disclosed a CAA's spokesperson here on Monday.
The Director P&D told the Minister that the car park project is a state-of-the-art car parking that is fully computerized for locating vehicles and it is fully equipped with closed circuit cameras. "Around 3500 vehicles can be parked at one time. After the opening of this parking, there will be no traffic blockage on the airport's entry roads," he added.
The Minister also visited Cargo Throughput Charges (CTC) control room and Cargo Complex (Import/Export) Sheds and took briefing on cargo operations. He appreciated the efforts taken by the CAA in improving airport operations and emphasized on better public facilitation in lines with the vision of the Prime Minister.
