KP Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has said that all the promises and announcements made with the journalist community would be fulfilled adding that the issue of media colony would also be resolved as per their desires.
He was addressing the oath taking ceremony of the newly elected body of the Peshawar Press Club (PPC) here in Chief Minister's House on Monday. KP Minister for Information, Shaukat Ali Yousafzai, and Advisor to CM on Merged Districts, Ajmal Wazir and Secretary Information, Imtiaz Shah were also present on the occasion.
The Chief Minister Khyber Pakhtunkhwa administered oath to the newly elected executive members of Peshawar Press Club while he also provided grant-in-aid cheque of Rs. 15 million to the press club. While addressing the oath taking ceremony, the Chief Minister stated that the annual grant of Peshawar press Club has been increased from Rs. 03 million to Rs. 06 million whereas steps are underway to resolve the issue of new building for Peshawar Press Club. He said that the provincial government has always welcomed the positive criticism by journalists however he hoped that journalists would also continue to highlight the initiatives of government taken for the wellbeing of public. He kept on saying that the incumbent government is going all out to resolve the issues of journalist community assuring that the grant for press clubs of newly merged tribal districts would soon be released.
Meanwhile, the Chief Minister Mahmood Khan paid a surprise visit to Children Hospital at Haji Camp in Peshawar after which he also visited Police Station Gulbahar. During his visit, the Chief Minister made it clear that the provincial government is fully committed towards the establishment of welfare state and to promote good governance in the province for which every effort is being taken. During his visit to Children Hospital, the Chief Minister inspected the various departments of the hospital and the healthcare services being provided to citizens.
He stated that provision of efficient healthcare services to citizens of the province is the top most priority of the incumbent government for which universal health coverage has been ensured. He stated that the initiative is first of its kind in Pakistan and is landmark achievement towards promoting good governance and establishment a welfare state in the province.
