KP CM for implementation of Peshawar's beautification plan

Chief Minister Mahmood Khan has directed to ensure progress and implementation of provincial capital beautification and renovation project "Peshawar Revival Plan" within the given timeline directing that local MPAs should be involved in all the developmental works and initiatives of the Peshawar city.

He issued these directives while presiding over a high-level meeting here in Chief Minister's House on Sunday, Special Assistant to Chief Minister on Local Government Kamran Bangash, Advisor to Chief Minister on Merged Areas Ajmal Wazir, MPA and DDAC Chairman Swat Fazal Hakim Khan, Principal Secretary to Chief Minister Shahab Ali Shah, Commissioner Peshawar Amjad Ali Khan, Deputy Commissioner, DG PDA, Secretary Local Government and other relevant officials attended the meeting.

The Chief Minister appreciated District Administration Peshawar over the initiative of "Revenue/open Darbar". The purpose of Revenue Darbar is to facilitate public in revenue matter under which all revenue related services including provision of domicile, mutation, revenue transcript, land records, Registry etc. are provided to the public on the spot.

The Chief Minister further directed that the idea of Revenue Darbar will also be extended to other districts of the province so as to facilitate public across the province.

Mahmood Khan directed that concrete action should be initiated against drug dealers, while proper steps should also be taken for the rehabilitation of drug addicts in Peshawar city. He said that a report will also be sought from the Social Welfare Department regarding the progress so far made on rehabilitation of drug addicts.

The Chief Minister directed to take concrete steps to discourage the use of gas cylinders in vehicles. The Chief Minister also emphasized the need to streamline check posts near Peshawar Motorway Toll Plaza and avoid unnecessary obstacles so that the purpose of the check post could also be fulfilled without creating difficulties for traffic.

He also directed to further improve the traffic system in Peshawar and to ensure the availability of traffic signals at crossings points. He was presiding over a progress review meeting on Peshawar Revival Plan and performance of District Administration Peshawar at Chief Minister's Secretariat Peshawar.

The meeting was briefed in detail over the performance of District Administration Peshawar and progress made so far on the project "Peshawar Revival Plan".

The meeting was informed that in the last nine months the district administration had resolved 58 land acquisition cases, while two Revenue Darbars have been set up, in which 250 complaints have been resolved on the spot.

The meeting was also briefed regarding progress related recovery of arrears of WSSP, measures to prevent stray dogs population in Peshawar, anti-polio campaigns, measures for clean and green Peshawar, Northern Bypass Project Peshawar, removal and changing of signboards in Peshawar city.
