Maria Leonoro "Amor" Torres - a Filipino - American and the founder of 'We Care of Humanity' (WCH) on Thursday called on the Mayor Karachi along with a delegation at his office and offered cooperation towards the development of Karachi.

WCH is an internationally recognized organization mainly dealing with global issues. Maria discussed various sectors of civic life including tourism, pollution control, up gradation of educational and medical institutions, generating fuel from garbage through RDF system, plantation and environment and offered cooperation to the city government in this regard.

The delegation was given a detailed presentation on Karachi and its demographic importance in the region.

Mayor Karachi Wasim Akhtar said efforts are under way to provide better civic facilities to people. Karachi is a big city which is considered as hub of commercial activities in the country. We would welcome any support or cooperation in its progress.

Maria expressed interest in the sister cities agreement between Karachi and Manila. Mayor gave a shield on behalf of KMC to the guest on this occasion.

The meeting was also attended by the Deputy Mayor Arshad Hassan, Chairman DMC Central Rehan Hashmi, vice Chairman Shakir Ali, Senior Director Coordination Masood Alam and other officers.
