Eight players have been added to the tournament during the Players Replacement Draft with Karachi Kings made two full replacement picks, Peshawar Zalmi made one full and one partial replacement pick, Islamabad United made one full replacement pick, Lahore Qalandars made one full replacement pick, while Quetta Gladiators and Multan Sultans made one partial replacement pick each.
Kings’ Liam Plunkett has been ruled out of the tournament due to an injury and he will be replaced by New Zealand fast-bowler Mitch McClenaghan for the full duration of the tournament. The Kiwi pacer had previously represented Lahore Qalandars.
Their other replacement was also for the complete edition with Chadwick Walton in place of Dan Lawrence. Walton has represented Islamabad United in the 2018 and 2019 editions of the league.
Peshawar Zalmi brought in England pacer Lewis Gregory for South African Dwaine Pretorius (Silver) who will be on national duty. Meanwhile, Hard-hitting all-rounder Kieron Pollard will join the Zalmi side after West Indies’ series against Sri Lanka on 7 March. Till then, his spot will be covered by Carlos Brathwaite, who played for Lahore Qalandars.
For the same reason, Pollard’s international teammate Fabian Allen will join Multan Sultans in the middle of the tournament. Allen will be covered by Derbyshire all-rounder Wayne Madsen.
Lahore Qalandars will have Dane Vilas who replaced Lendl Simmons for the full competition. Simmons will not feature in the competition due to personal reasons.
Two-time champions Islamabad United replaced Rassie van der Dussen, who has to be on South Africa duty, with Dawid Malan. The left-handed England batsman had been with Peshawar Zalmi since the inaugural edition.
Quetta Gladiators have drafted Zahid Mehmood), the Southern Punjab leg-spinner, till 7 March as a partial replacement for Keemo Paul who will be busy with international commitments.
