Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar inaugurated Kabbadi World Cup 2020 event at Punjab Stadium on Sunday. Chief Minister Usman Buzdar and Speaker Punjab Assembly Chaudhry Pervaiz Elahi administered oath from the players.
While addressing the inaugural ceremony CM Punjab said that Punjab has been bestowed with the honor of hosting Kabbadi World Cup tournament for the first time in the history of Pakistan. He wholeheartedly welcomes all the players of nine best teams across the world. Pakistan is a peaceful country and Pakistani nation loves sports, he added. Pakistan is an ideal land for playing all types of sports and with the grace of Allah Almighty we will perpetuate holding sports competitions to advance more and more forward.
Usman Buzdar said that he also congratulates the management for excellently holding and gracing the Kabbadi World Cup event. Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch. Pervaiz Elahi while expressing his views on this occasion said that he is thankful to Chief Minister Usman Buzdar for nicely holding Kabbadi World Cup and by holding this event the aspiration of our elders has been fulfilled. He further said that Kabbadi World Cup is a mega event.
Provincial Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Bhatti complimented Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar for extending his all out support for holding Kabbadi World Cup 2020. He further said that Usman Buzdar has also granted approval for setting up five star hotel near Qaddafi Stadium. This hotel will be constructed in one year and players will stay in this hotel next time and with its construction citizens will be saved from traffic problems.
Speaker Punjab Assembly Ch. Pervaiz Elahi, Provincial Sports Minister Rai Taimoor Bhatti, President Pakistan Kabbadi Federation Ch. Shafay Hussain and Secretary Sports also addressed the inaugural ceremony.
Provincial Ministers Ansar Majeed Khan, Ajmal Cheema, senior party leader of PML-Q Kamil Ali Agha, Commissioner Lahore Division, Secretary Information, CCPO Lahore, Deputy Commissioner Lahore, high officials and large number of people were also present on this occasion.
Meanwhile, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar distributed prizes among the players for winning Chief Minister's Polo Cup 2020 final match at Polo Ground Race Course today. President Polo Club Malik Atif Yar Tiwana, Senior Member Polo Club Ishaq Khaqwani, Col. Mudassar (retd), Commissioner Lahore Division and concerned officers were also present on this occasion.
While expressing his views on this occasion said that despite passage of 800 years polo is still a popular sport today and historical polo club of Lahore has become a proud identity and symbol of Pakistan for polo spectators all over the world. Polo is not only a mere sport but is also combination of discipline and timing, he added.
Sport like polo not only plays a pivotal role in promoting physical but also mental health and sport is inevitable for maintaining healthy body and positive thinking, he maintained.
When playgrounds are inhabited then hospitals become desolate. We have to inhabit our playgrounds to the maximum so that number of people visiting hospitals decrease. I congratulate all the players for winning the final match. Winning and losing is part of game but sportsman spirit matters in the end which also helps in practical life, concluded Usman Buzdar.
