The Lahore High Court (LHC) issued on Monday a stay order against turning former finance minister Ishaq Dar’s Lahore's residence into a shelter home.
The LHC heard a petition filed by Dar's wife Tabassum against the Punjab government's decision to convert Dar's house into a shelter home. Issuing a restraining order, the high court has sought the provincial government's reply in 10 days, local media reported.
On Friday, the Punjab government had converted Dar’s house in Gulberg into a shelter home. The shelter home has been set up for 40 people. Metalbunkbeds with separate rooms were set up for women with each room air-conditioned.
Following the decision of the provincial government, the former minister in a video posted on Twitter said that the government violated the decision of the Islamabad High Court. Dar termed the provincial government's decision as state terrorism and said he will the move court against it.
