PSMA slams arrest of sugar dealers

Pakistan Sugar Mills Association (PSMA) Punjab Chairman Nauman Khan has termed the government step of arresting sugar dealers as a very inappropriate step, especially when the commodity is available in abundance in the market.

In a statement issued here on Wednesday, he said this is creating panic and uncertainty. He warned that the sugar millers would not be held responsible if such steps by the government disrupt smooth supply of sugar in the market. He said these arrests would disrupt the business activities in the country.

He alleged that dealers of each and every district in Punjab are being targeted unjustifiably due to which dealers are ignoring sugar business. He said that sugar is not being supplied in the local market despite being in abundance due to these actions of the government.
