CM terms Punjab's Ehsas plan a big step in right direction

Terming 'Ehsas Punjab Programme' as an important step towards fulfilling the agenda of change, Chief Minister Punjab Sardar Usman Buzdar on Wednesday said this programme would ameliorate a lot of common man by providing necessary assistance to the impecunious strata.

This was stated by him while talking to the provincial Health Minister Dr Yasmin Rashid and Vice-Chairman Punjab Social Protection Authority Ali Asjad Malhi, here today.

The Chief Minister directed to provide necessary resources for the provision of best healthcare facilities and termed the 'Sehat Insaf Card Programme' as a flagship initiative of the PTI government. The government has brought ease in the lives of the citizens while the past governments created problems for them, he said, adding: "Instructions have been issued for setting up one-window welfare counters at e-khidmat centres for destitute women, children and elderly citizens. Various services of Punjab Social Protection Authority will be provided through these counters."

Moreover, the CM held a meeting with national and provincial assembly members who apprised him about problems of their respective constituencies. Ongoing progress about development projects being taken for Rawalpindi division also came under review. The elected representatives also put forth their recommendations with regard to annual development programme for next fiscal year.

The CM Usman Buzdar also ordered to hold inquiry to probe embezzlements in the constructions of small dams at Photohar during previous government tenure and directed that Chairman Chief Minister Inspection Team will undertake investigation of this matter and will soon submit its report to CM Office. He said that land mafia grabbing state lands will be taken to its logical end and operation against land grabbers will continue without yielding to any pressure.

He also announced that construction of ring road project will soon be initiated in Rawalpindi and also directed C&W Department to settle necessary matters regarding Rawalpindi ring road project. Setting up Ghandhara University in Taxila will also be reviewed, he added. Project of setting up new vegetable market in Rawalpindi will be launched in Annual Development Programme of next fiscal year.

The CM further stated that he has already directed to take indiscriminate action against hoarders and illegal profiteers and district price control committees have been made active and vibrant in this regard. He said that new universities are being setup in Rawalpindi and water problem for Rawalpindi residents will also be resolved. 100-bed hospital and project of postgraduate college in Kahota will also be included in the new budget while Trauma Center in Gujjar Khan will also be made functional.
