Seven special education, rehabilitation centres to be set up: Sindh government

Special Assistant to Chief Minister, Sindh on Department of Empowerment of Persons with Disabilities, Syed Qasim Naveed Qamar, has said that DEDP has planned to market seven special education and rehabilitation centres under Public and Private Partnership (PPP) to improve the quality education to facilitate differently disabled children studying in these institutions and to enhance teachers' capacity building.

This, he said, while presiding over a meeting here at his office on Monday. Secretary DEPD Pervaiz Ahmed Sehar, director DEPD Ghulam Nabi Nizamani, deputy secretary Shahzaib Shaikh and other officers also attended the meeting.

The meeting was informed that the purpose of marketing these centres under PPP was to improve delivery of relevant teaching methodology and initially seven centres had been proposed to be given under said project.

It was further stated that three special education and rehabilitation centres in Sukkur, each one in Larkana, Sanghar, Korangi, Karachi and Tando Muhammad Khan would be handed over under PPP NODE.

Addressing the meeting Qassim Naveed Qamar added: "Under directives of PPP chairman
