TPL Trakker has partnered with MiRyde, a Canadian ride-sharing transportation company, to provide location based services that are developed on Pakistan's first digital mapping service, TPL Maps, a business segment of TPL Trakker.
"Following the partnership, MiRyde's app will be powered by TPL Maps with the aim of contributing data to the community," said a TPL Trakker's spokesperson here on Monday.
Backed by TPL Maps, MiRyde, which started operations in Lahore last year, will offer the largest localized location based dataset with over 400 cities, 4.4 million geo-coded addresses, 2 million Points of Interest (POIs) and over 500,000 km of road network across the country, providing unmatched convenience to commuters who need a quick, affordable and safe ride in any city.
To mark the occasion, a signing ceremony was held on February 14 that was attended by TPL Trakker CEO Sarwar Ali Khan, MiRyde CEO Rizwan Akhtar and MiRyde Director Arif Jafri along with other management team members from both companies.
Speaking on the occasion, Sarwar Ali Khan said, "As a leader in IoT and technology solutions, we are proud to support the growing community of innovative startups and large enterprises in Pakistan. In the coming years, we expect exponential growth in the usage of our location based services, already taking upon hundreds of millions of API calls".
Rizwan Akhtar said that they are extremely excited to have a local partner as they believe in promoting and deploying home-grown technologies. "I am confident that with TPL Trakker, we will further expand our footprint, utilizing geo-optimization to enable our drivers to reach locations quickly and efficiently."
Located in Mississauga, Canada, MiRyde started operations in Pakistan in August 2019 and is now expanding to other cities. By December 2020, MiRyde will provide employment opportunities to 500,000 people in Pakistan. The ride hailing service values its employees and plans to provide 90 percent profits from each ride to their drivers along with bonuses to top performing employees.
