The Marylebone Cricket Club (MCC) defeated Multan Sultan by 72 runs in the last T20 match, here at Aitchison college ground on Wednesday. Led by Kumar Sangakkara, the MCC team is on a tour of Pakistan after 47 years. The MCC won two and lost two matches staged in the provincial capital.
Batting first, the MCC set a target of 184 for the loss of four wickets in allotted 20 overs. Kumar Sangakkara and RavI Bophara struck solid half centuries. In reply, Multan Sultan were dismissed at paltry 112 as most of their batsmen failed to show any resistance to the MCC bowlers. Imran Qayyum was the pick of the bowlers with four wickets. Multan Sultan appeared short of confidence when they started the run chase. Khusdil Shah and Zeeshan Arshaf were the only two batsmen who exhibited some prowess and scored fighting runs.
