The Lahore High Court (LHC) on Thursday directed Ibrahim Maneka, son of first lady Bushra Bibi, to appear before the court on February 24 and explain about the matter of kidnapping of two brothers with the assistance of police.
Petitioner Muhammad Mohsin approached the LHC for the recovery of his brothers, pleading that one of his brothers Ijaz borrowed a car from Maneka. Unfortunately, the car was damaged in a road accident and Maneka started demanding a huge amount.
He said Maneka is an influential person and got his two brothers Ijaz and Ahsan picked with the help of local police. He approached Ibrahim for the release of his brothers but he declined to do so until the payment of Rs150 million. The petitioner said Rs1 million had already been paid to Maneka. A public prosecutor appearing on behalf of police told the court that both the alleged detainees were neither required nor were taken into custody in any case.
