A meeting of the Provincial Development Working Party (PDWP) here on Friday approved various development schemes worth Rs 37.037 billion. The meeting was presided over by the Chairman of the Planning & Development Board of Sindh, Mohammad Waseem.
The forum approved one scheme in sports & youth affairs department, which is related to construction of stadiums in Matiari, Jamshoro, Hyderabad, Tharparkar, Sanghar, Shikarpur, Jacobabad & Tando Allayar districts in Sindh at a cost of Rs 588.566 million.
The scheme for establishment of Sufism and Modern Sciences University in Bhit Shah at a cost of Rs 1157.987 million has also been approved.
The Forum approved one scheme in public health engineering department and one in Health Department which include procurement of medical equipment and machine for cancer treatment at the hospital of the Dow University of Health Sciences in Karachi worth Rs820.000 million.
The PWDP approved six schemes in Local Government Department and Work & Services each. Ten schemes were approved in Irrigation Department.
The forum emphasized the fact that strenuous efforts are required to execute the schemes efficiently and on time.
