President Dr Arif Alvi has appointed Khalid Jawed Khan as the new Attorney General of Pakistan (AGP).
In a notification issued by Ministry of Law and Justice on Saturday, the president appointed Khan as AGP 'with the rank and status of federal minister with immediate effect'. The new AGP is replacing Anwar Mansoor Khan, who resigned on Thursday.

Khalid has already served as AGP during the interim government headed by former Justice Nasir Mulk. He was appointed AGP on June 21, 2018.
However, the Pakistan Tehreek-e-Insaf replaced him with Anwar on August 31st, 2018. He is an expert in vast areas of law, including constitutional law, income tax, sales tax, customs, land matters, banking law and service laws.
