Prime Minister Imran Khan arrived on Thursday in Qatar on a day-long visit aimed at strengthening bilateral cooperation between the two countries.

He is accompanied by Foreign Minister Shah Mahmood Qureshi, Special Assistant to the PM on Overseas Pakistanis Zulfikar Bukhari and Special Assistant to the PM on Petroleum Nadeem Babar. The PM will meet Amir of the State of Qatar Highness Sheikh Tamim bin Hamad Al Thani.

"The visit resulted in strengthening bilateral economic collaboration in diverse areas. The Prime Minister’s visit will further reinforce this process," the Foreign Office said in a statement.

The visit of the premier comes ahead of the US-Taliban peace deal signing ceremony in Doha scheduled on February 29.
