Following the first two cases of the coronavirus in Karachi and Islamabad, Pakistan suspended on Thursday all flight operations to and from Iran.
The flight operations will be suspended at midnight. The federal aviation ministry said that flight operations have been suspended till further notice, local media reported.
On Wednesday, Pakistan confirmed two cases of the coronavirus which includes a 22-year-old male patient in Karachi who had travelled from Iran. The second case was confirmed at PIMS in Islamabad. Both cases were of people who had recently arrived from Iran.
The Railways Ministry has already suspended the operation of trains between Quetta and Taftan. Railways Minister Sheikh Rashid said that operation will remain suspended as long as the border with Iran is closed.
Iran has reported 139 cases and 19 deaths amid a spokesman announcement that coronavirus has now been detected throughout the country.
