One migrant seeking to cross from Turkey into Greece was killed on Monday after Greek security forces intervened to prevent the passage of migrants from crossing the border.
On Friday, Turkey announced that it would open its border to let migrants reach Europe. Following the announcement, more than 10000 people from the Middle East and Africa headed for the border.
However, Greek riot police fired teargas at the migrants, some of whom threw stones and wielded metal bars. Due to the clash, a Syrian migrant died from injuries, Reuters reported.
