RECORDER REPORT

LAHORE: Special Assistant to Chief Minister Punjab on Health, Kh. Salman Rafique, said that resolution of doctors' problems is the priority of Punjab government and recommendations presented by the doctors' representatives would be seriously considered during preparation of service structure of public sector doctors.

He expressed these views while presiding over a joint meeting of government departments and representatives of doctors' organisations for formulating recommendations of service structure at S&GAD committee room, Civil Secretariat, here today. Besides, Secretaries and Addl. Secretaries of Health, Law, Prosecution, Regulation and Finance departments, the representatives of Young Doctors' Association (YDA), Pakistan Medical Association (PMA), Medical Teachers' Association (MTA) and general cadre doctors were also present in the meeting.

The doctors' delegation was headed by Prof. Dr. Ishaq Malik and Dr. Nasir Abbas. Doctors' delegation presented proposals in writing for preparation of their service structure.

The delegation proposed that the issues related to administrative matters should be resolved on immediate basis while other issues which involved financial implications could be considered as a second priority.

Kh. Salman Rafique immediately constituted a committee headed by Special Secretary Health to resolve the issues regarding administration. He assured the doctors' community that government departments would work on the recommendations presented by them in a separate meeting and financial impact of these recommendations would also be considered.
