The federal government constituted an implementation committee on reorganising of the federal government under the convenership of Advisor to the Prime Minister on Institutional Reforms and Austerity on July 15, 2019.
The mandate of the committee is to work out an implementation strategy in consultation with the task force and submit the monthly progress report.
During the period October 2019 to January 2020, the committee held 13 meetings.
The representatives of the ministries, divisions and departments were invited and the proposals were discussed threadbare. The recommendations include those, which have been made with the consensus of all the stakeholders.
The cabinet will also look into recommendations of the National Assembly's Standing Committee on Cabinet Secretariat for enhancement of quota for the ICT domicile holders (up to 100 for jobs in grade 1 to 15).
On November 27, 2019, the parliamentary panel recommended that the Establishment Division may move a summary for enhancement of quota for the ICT domicile holders.
The quota may apply to all the federal departments working in the jurisdiction of Islamabad under any ministry. The cabinet will also discuss the privatisation progress of government-owned entities, which are in the active privatisation list.
