Special Assistant to Prime Minister Imran Khan (SAPM) on Health Dr Zafar Mirza has confirmed that nine new cases of coronavirus have emerged in Karachi.
The new number of confirmed cases takes the toll to 16 in Pakistan. In a tweet the SAPM announced that these new cases are contacts of an already confirmed case.
"Further contacts are being traced and tested. This makes a total of 16 cases in Pakistan," Dr Mirza tweeted. Five of the patients came from Syria via Doha, while the three other patients came from London via Dubai in the last week, the Sindh Health Department confirmed.

In Karachi, 13 people have tested positive for the disease whereas, the other three cases were reported from Islamabad and Gilgit-Baltistan.
