Security agencies have handed over "missing" Senior Superintendent of Police (SSP) Mukhafar Adeel, the prime suspect in former law officer Shahbaz Talta's murder case, to the city police on Tuesday.
Sources claimed that the SSP had himself surrendered to the law enforcement agencies after they took into custody his family members. However, Capital City Police Officer (CCPO) Zulfiqar Hameed has yet not confirmed the information.
On the other hand, Asad Bhatti, a close friend of Mukhafar, during interrogation earlier this month had reportedly claimed that the SSP had killed Tatla over a dispute at a dance party at his rented house in Faisal Town. He revealed that Adeel was addicted to various drugs. He had also given a stock of videos to the investigators allegedly showing a number of high-ranking police officers and inspectors along with several prominent figures from different walks of life with Adeel in parties. According to the findings of detectives, Mukhafar seemed to have planned a perfect crime to avoid his arrest.
