Kings trounce Qalanders in crucial PSL match

Amid coronavirus threats, the crowd turned into good number to support their home side - Karachi Kings at National Stadium Karachi. Both sides are equally balanced but Kings outclassed Qalandars in all departments.

Chasing the target of 151 runs in packed stadium, the Karachi Kings has given an outstanding response with brilliant batting performance of opening duo Babar and Sharjeel that led Kings to convincingly sail through in the match in 17.1 overs.

Sharjeel, who was declared man of the match, electrified the crowd with five massive sixes. He played 74 runs knock in 59 balls with five boundaries. Babar again showed his class with elegance style of batting. He made 69 of 46 balls with 8 boundaries and a six.

Earlier, Karachi Kings won the toss and elected to field first.

The captain Sohail Akhter opened Qalandars innings with Fakhar Zaman. They gave an opening stand of 49 runs when Fakhar was bowled out by Umaid in 6 overs. He made 17 of 13 balls with three boundaries.

Lynn, Patel and inform wicketkeeper batman Dunk remained unable to enter into double figures. Lynn was caught by Iftikhar at midwicket on Arshad. He played 5 runs.

Dunk was caught behind the wicket by Usama when he got top edge on Umaid's short delivery while playing pull shot at the score of 92 in 12.2 overs. He made 9 of 14 balls with a boundary.

Patel was caught by Babar at deep midwicket on Jordan in 17.2 overs. He played 5 of 9 balls.

Qalandars' captain Sohail played brilliant 68 runs knock of 49 balls with eight boundaries and two massive sixes. He was LBW out by Arshad when Qalandars' score reached to 108 in 14.1 overs.

Qalandars' shambling batting got little support from Hafeez, who made 35 with three boundaries that them to set an easy target of 151 runs for home side.
