The global economic scenario will be completely changed within next couple of months and hence, Pakistan must realign its trade and industry related strategy in addition to focusing on untapped markets including Russia and other land locked states of central Asia, said Jawad-Ur-Rehman President Russian based organization "Business Association for Cooperation with Pakistan" (BACP).
Addressing an awareness session on "How to enhance export to Russia", he expressed deep concern over present trade volume between the two countries and said that we must make serious efforts to enhance it.
He assured that BACP is a non-profitable organization and will contribute its role in giving a quantum jump to trade between two countries. He specifically mentioned the much trumpeted non-availability of banking channels and said that this issue was exploited out of proportion with malicious intention to restrain Pakistan to develop friendly business relations with Russia.
Jawad told that he is doing business in Russia for the last 18 years and is very comfortable for bank transactions. He told that the facility of online banking is also available and we could transfer cash from Russia to Pakistan within hardly one hour.
He further told that in case of more than 50,000 Dollars a written contract is imperative but in case of fewer amounts we could transfer it without any contract.
Continuing Jawad told that there is ban on export of Basmati Rice from Pakistan. He mentioned a specific lobby responsible for this ban and told that it will end within next few days and we must explore new opportunities to export rice to Russian markets right now.
He told that Russian officials had recently visited Pakistan and approved two rice units for the export of rice to Russian buyers. He further told that Russia had banned import of various agriculture products from a number of European Countries; and Pakistan must fill this vacuum by entering into Russian markets.
About BACP, he told that it will provide guidance and free facilitation for one year to the registered participants. He told that this Association will provide those Profile of Russian companies and invitation from Russia for visa purposes.
Madam Madina Tavitova Gerorgivna of BACP gave a detailed presentation on Russian economy and emerging market opportunities. Earlier Rana Sikandar Azam Khan President FCCI introduced Faisalabad and FCCI and told that FCCI will arrange a trade delegation for Russia in collaboration with BACP. He appreciated the efforts of Jawad who is making serious efforts to enhance trade between the two countries.
A question-answer session was also held which was participated by Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed, Muzammil Sultan, Rana Saeed Iqbal, Shabbir Hussain Chawala, Sajjad Anwar, Farooq Yusuf, Farhan Latif, Sana Ullah Khan Naizi, Hajji Abid, Rana Muhammad Sadique, Sheikh Abrar, Najeeb-ul-Anmbia and Irshad Ali Sindhu.
The function was also attended by BACP Director Fazil Qadir, Moiz-ur-Rehman Managing Partner of Saqafat Forever, Bilal Mustafa Director Technical, Amir Hussain and Madam Madina Tavitova Gerorgivna of BACP.
Later Sheikh Faisal Ikram President Sahiwal Chamber of Commerce & Industry presented FCCI Shield to Jawad-Ur-Rehman President BACP while Sheikh Ashfaq Ahmed Former President and Madam Nighat Shahid Former Executive Member FCCI decorated Amir Hussain and Madam Madina Tavitova Gerorgivna of BACP with FCCI Pins.
