The government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa on Friday decided the closure of all public and private educational institutions including schools, colleges and universities for a period of 15 days as precautionary measure. The decision was taken in a special meeting of the provincial cabinet that reviewed preparations of health other relevant departments to prevent the possible outbreak of the Corona Virus here Friday
The provincial cabinet also decided to ban gathering of more than 50 persons in official activities while chief minister announced to postpone his scheduled engagements in his constituency.
Speaking in the provincial cabinet meeting, the Chief Minister directed the provincial ministers and MPAs to play their effective role in creating public awareness in their respective constituencies. He termed the issue of Coronavirus as a challenge not only for Pakistan and Khyber Pakhtunkhwa, rather for the whole world stating that the provincial government is fully prepared to deal with the issue.
The meeting was given detail briefing on the latest situation of Coronavirus in the province, number of confirm and suspected cases and measures taken so far to deal with any emergency situation.
The Chief Minister said that no confirmed case has yet been reported in the province but the provincial government would not compromise on preventive and precautionary measures. The cabinet also approved exemption to health department from the relevant Khyber Pakhtunkhwa Revenue Authority (KPRA) Rules for purchase of required medicines and equipments on emergency basis.
