The Government of Sindh has decided to uphold its decision of opening the schools on March 31, despite the federal government's announcement to close education institutions till April 5.
Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah clarified on Saturday that schools will remain closed till May 30, local media reported. Speaking to the media, the minister said that the provincial government will however, follow the federal government's advisories for wedding halls, religious congregations and other public places.
On Friday, the National Security Committee (NSC) chaired by Imran Khan, decided to close schools till April 5 till further notice.
In a meeting of the National Security Committee presided over PM Imran Khan, it has been decided to close all educational institutions in the country till April 5. This includes all schools and universities, public and private, vocational institutions and madaris.
