Director General FDA Muhammad Suhail Khawaja has said that strict enforcement of relevant law would be ensured to stop the establishment of illegal housing schemes and construction of buildings without approval of map & cite plan.
He was presiding over a meeting, which was held to review the strategy for taking strict legal action against the unapproved housing schemes, encroachments and violations of building laws. Additional Director General FDA Amer Aziz, Director Estate Management Dr Anam Sajid, Director Town Planning Mehr Ayub, Deputy Director Admn Yasir Ijaz Chatta, Special Judicial Magistrate Ch Ijaz Lateef and other officers attended the meeting.
Reviewing the actions taken so far against unapproved housing schemes, illegal building and encroachments, the Director General FDA said that transparent regular departmental actions were vital against the violators. He stressed upon following coordinated strategy from all concerned sections for achieving better results for showing organised and solid performance of FDA. He directed for accelerating the operations against illegal housing scheme, land grabbers and encroachments without any discrimination and said that the demolition of illegal constructions should not be avoided. It was decided during the meeting that the Special Judicial Magistrate would also move with the FDA enforcement team and heavy police contingent as well for making the operation result oriented. The DG asked the Special Judicial magistrate for early disposal of Challans under trial before his court and said notices should be severed to the violators of law without delay.
He assured that the required staff would be provided to the court for further management. He said that effective legal course of action be adopted for the recovery of fines and other dues. He expressed his commitment that available resources would be utilized judiciously for raising the services of FDA with regards to city development and public relief.
