Addressing a press conference in Karachi on Monday, Sindh Education Minister Saeed Ghani said that the provincial government will bear all the expenses for the pilgrims.

He added that 50 patients who came from Taftan were tested positive for coronavirus. The minister maintained that the basic principles of hygiene and medical facilities were not fulfilled in the makeshift Taftan coronavirus camp.

Regarding education, Ghani said that the new education year will commence from June 1, 2020 while the exams for class 1 to VIII will be conducted from June 1 to 15.

He mentioned that from June 15, the examinations of class 9th and 10th will begin while the results will be announced in August 2020. He elaborated that intermediate exams will start from July 6, while the results for class 12th will be announced on September 15.

The education minister said that the government has sealed some schools which opened despite provincial government's orders.

He said action will be taken against those schools who will demand advance fees from students. He highlighted the court has also refrained the school from collecting advance fees.
