To deal with the situation arising out of the Coronavirus pandemic, the Punjab Industrial Estates Development and Management Company (PIEDMC) has resolved to launch a campaign to implement preventive measures in all the factories operating in different industrial estates.
This decision was taken in an emergency meeting held here Tuesday. PIEDMC Chairman Syed Nabeel Hashmi presided over the meeting that was also attended by representatives of all the industrial estates including President Board of Management, Sundar Industrial Estate Shahzad Azam and President Board of Management, Quaid-e-Azam Industrial Estate Arif Qasim.
Presently, more than 2000 factories are operating in different production sectors of economy in all the seven industrial estates including Sundar Estate, Quaid-e-Azam estate, Bhalwal estate, Rahim Yar Khan, Multan Phase-1 & 2 and Vehari Industrial Estate. Approximately 250,000 workers are involved directly and about one million people are engaged indirectly with these set-ups.
