The Sindh government has decided to convert the Karachi Expo Centre into a quarantine facility as the province has reported 211 coronavirus cases.

During a meeting of the provincial task force on coronavirus on Thursday, the government decided to convert the Karachi Expo Centre into a 10,000-bed hospital.

The isolation centre will be established with the support of Pakistan Army’s Corps 5, local media reported. Sindh Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah has also directed authorities to make necessary arrangements for beds and other required equipment.

The CM also announced that 2 million grocery bags will be distributed among needy families.

The Ministry of National Health Services has issued a list of hospitals and isolation wards for corona across Pakistan.

Meanwhile, the interior ministry has announced that those who have come from abroad and experience coronavirus symptoms will be tested free of cost at any government authorized hospitals.

The interior ministry said that only local people are charged for the test.
