The chief minister of Sindh, his entire cabinet and the administration is with the prime minister in these testing times when everyone was desperately making efforts to limit the spread of the novel coronavirus.
This was stated by Sindh information minister Syed Nasir Hussain Shah while addressing a joint press conference of all the information ministers through a video link on Saturday.
The provincial minister for information said that whatever strategy the federal government devised in its efforts to limit this pandemic, the Sindh government would wholeheartedly follow it.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that on the directives of PPP chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, all the members of the Sindh cabinet had decided to leave behind blame game.
First and foremost it was imperative for us to adopt measures to stop the spread of the virus, he added.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah commended the efforts of the adviser to the prime minister on information and broadcasting for forming the group of provincial information ministers.
He also said that the way the media was supporting the government in these testing times made it incumbent upon us to extend our support to the media houses as well.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that the coronavirus was our collective problem, and we must sort it out collectively.
Meanwhile, the people of Sindh gave an excellent response to chief minister Syed Murad Ali Shah's appeal to stay at home for three days.
Karachi wore a deserted look on Saturday in response to the appeal of the chief minister.
Sindh Minister for Information Syed Nasir Hussain Shah commended the people of the province for their mature response to the appeal of the chief minister.
The information minister reiterated the Sindh government's stance that the most effective way the people could keep themselves safe from the coronavirus was caution.
He said that the more the people exercised caution the more they would be successful in keeping themselves as well as others safe from the virus.
Syed Nasir Husain Shah said that the efforts of Sindh Chief Minister Syed Murad Ali Shah and his complete team were highly praiseworthy.
The minister said that history would always remember the sincere efforts made and the timely steps taken by the chief minister against this pandemic.
He said that the chairman of Pakistan People's Party had given clear directives to the Sindh government on taking every possible step to counter this pandemic.
Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said that whatever the Sindh government had done so far to limit the spread of the coronavirus in the province was being appreciated worldwide.
"The whole Sindh government, on the directives of Chairman Bilawal Bhutto-Zardari, is vigorously monitoring the constantly changing situation," he added. Syed Nasir Husain Shah assured the people that every possible measure was being adopted to limit the spread of the coronavirus.
The provincial minister for information said that the cooperation of the people with the Sindh government had been exemplary.
"On the other hand the way the volunteers have come forward to become the helping hand of the government was laudable," Syed Nasir Hussain Shah said.
The minister also thanked all the welfare organizations for extending their cooperation to the Sindh government.
"With all these collective efforts we will get rid of this pandemic soon," he said.
