As the number of coronavirus (Covid-19) cases topped 396 in the province, the Sindh government has decided, in principle, to enforce a lockdown in the province and a formal announcement in this regard would be made today.
Earlier, Sindh government spokesperson Murtaza Wahab tweeted Chief Minister Murad Ali Shah had discussed several options in a meeting with Governor Imran Ismail, Karachi Corps Commander, Sindh Rangers DG and Sindh IGP to ensure full implementation of the provincial government's decision of keeping people indoors. The government will ensure that grocery and medical shops remain open, he added. Insiders said initially, the lockdown may be enforced for four days and could be extended for 15 days.
