  • The Karachi Kings head coach wants to see the spinner in Pakistan’s World T20 squad.

Khan, who has been most promising prospect for Karachi King in Habib Bank Limited (HBL) Pakistan Super League (PSL) for past two seasons, was ignored in domestic competitions. Since making his FC debut in 2018, the spinner played only three games.

In a video on YouTube, the former Australian cricketer slammed the FC structure in the county for not giving Khan enough opportunities to showcase his talent.

“We [Karachi Kings] have got a young boy Umer Khan and we know he is a sensational kid,” said the head coach. “He did not even get half the games in first-class cricket which is ridiculous stuff.”

Furthermore, Jones insists that he would like him to be representing Pakistan in the upcoming World T20 in Australia.

“The kid is a potential superstar and he will probably be in my 15-16 players [squad] to go for the T20 World Cup,” he added.
