Activities at Karachi Ports and Port Qasim

The Karachi Port handled 117,881 tonnes of cargo comprising 65,226 tonnes of import cargo and 52,655 tonnes of export cargo including 7,140 loaded and empty containers during the last 24 hours ending at 0700 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargos of 65,226 tonnes comprised of 54,091 tonnes of containerised cargo and 11,135 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
The total export cargos of 52,655 tonnes comprised of 35,361 tonnes of containerised cargo; 6,800 tonnes of mill scale; 8,094 tonnes of clinkers and 2,400 tonnes of oil/liquid cargo.
As many as 7,140 containers comprising of 3,854 containers of import and 3,286 containers of export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The breakup of imported containers shows 1,273 of 20's and 1,159 40's loaded while 167 of 20's and 48 of 40's empty containers, whereas that of exported containers shows 839 of 20's and 541 of 40's loaded containers while 55 of 20's and 655 of 40's empty containers were handled during the business hours.
There were four ships namely Ningbo Express, KMTC Dubai, KN Forest and Xin Rui Hai carrying containers, talcum powder and clinkers respectively sailed out to sea during the reported period.
There were four vessels viz. Hyundai Faith, KMTC Dubai, Coral Star and VTC Glory carrying containers and general cargo respectively currently at the berths.
There are two ships namely Coral Star and Szcazecin Trader carrying containers expected to sail on Wednesday.
There are two vessels viz. Diavolezza and Celsius Messina carrying canola and chemical respectively due to arrive on Wednesday while four more vessels viz. Northern Dedication, MOL Generosity, Ulanga and Haruna Express carrying containers and mogas respectively are expected to arrive on Thursday.

PORT QASIM

A cargo volume of 161,848 tonnes comprising of 124,798 tonnes of import cargo and 37,050 tonnes of export cargo including 4,878 loaded and empty containers (TEUs) was handled at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
The total import cargo of 124,798 tonnes includes 37,706 tonnes of coal; 18,500 tonnes of palm oil; 2,780 tonnes of palm kernel; 6,400 tonnes of soyabean; 1,602 tonnes of LPG; 2,178 tonnes of chemical and 55,632 tonnes of containerised cargo.
The total export cargo of 37,050 tonnes includes 37,050 tonnes of containerised cargo.
As many as 4,878 containers comprising of 2,928 containers import and 1,950 containers export were handled during the last 24 hours on Wednesday.
There were two ships namely Tiger Winter and Tomson Gas carrying chemical and LPG respectively sailed out to sea on Wednesday morning, while two more ships namely Kota Naked and Abu Al-Abyad carrying containers and coal respectively are expected to sail on the same day afternoon.
A total number of eleven ships were occupied berths to load/offload containers, coal, soyabean, chemical, LPG, LNG; palm kernel and palm oil respectively at Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
As many as nine vessels viz. OOCL Atlanta, Hong Fas Shanghai, BW Kobe, Klara Oldendroff, Gas Amazon, Glory Harvest, Wil Force, Eco and Horizon carrying containers, general cargo, soyabean, canola, LPG, LNG, pet cock and palm oil respectively were at the outer anchorage of Port Qasim during the last 24 hours.
There were five ships viz. MOL Generosity, Eco, Epic, Glory Harvest and Wil Force carrying containers, pet cock, coal, LPG and LNG respectively expected to take berths at Qasim International Containers Terminal, Multi Purpose Terminal, Pakistan International Bulk Terminal, SSGC LPG Terminal and Engro Elengy Terminal respectively on Wednesday.
There was one ship namely Epic carrying coal due to arrive on Wednesday while two more ships namely MOL Courage and Maersk Brooklyn carrying containers are due to arrive on Thursday.
