That Cuba has a history of sending medical teams to nations in crisis is a fact. Cuban doctors, for example, had lent a helping hand to us following the devastating 2005 earthquake in our country. This island nation in the Caribbean Sea has sent its doctors worldwide in the fight against coronavirus.
It is plausibly argued that Cuba provides more medical personnel to the developing world than all the G8 countries combined. The images of Cuban doctors in a coronavirus -ravaged Italy are attracting global attention. It has reportedly also deployed its doctors to Nicaragua, Jamaica, Surinam and Grenada. Hats off to Cuba for carrying out such noble campaign for the good of humanity. Hats off to the country of Fidel Castro. Last but not least, my deep gratitudes to Argentine Marxist Che Guevara, who was a major figure in the Cuban Revolution.
